The organic Wakame seaweed contains a compound known as fucoxanthin that can help burn fatty tissue. Also, it has a high content of calcium and iodine; nutrients that are important for nursing new mothers. Due to that, Wakame seaweed is commonly used in Chinese medication for blood purification, intestinal strength, skin, hair, reproductive organs and menstrual regularity.
Wakame is delicious and can be eaten raw after being soaked in water for salads. It can also be added to miso soup, sunomono salads, stews, stir-frys or savoury dishes for flavour.
