Dr Gram Organic Mixed Rice is unpolished rice which contains an outer layer called bran that is rich in fibre, minerals and B-Vitamins. Medical tests have proven that consuming brown rice helps reduce the body’s sugar and cholesterol levels. Unpolished brown rice contains a lower glycemic index (GI) than normal white rice which reduces the risk of developing type 2 diabetes. High amounts of insoluble fibre aids in digestion and excretion.
- Rinse mixed brown and red rice once or twice
- Add 2 cups of water to one cup of brown rice
- Adjust water levels according to preference
- Cook and simmer
*For porridge or congee, add 5 cups of water to 1 cup of rice.
*No soaking is required. However, if you prefer softer rice, soak for 30 minutes before cooking.
